Mandela Day

Knowing God’s love is a blessing. Passing it on is a joy.

The 18th of July, Mandela Day we joined South Africa in giving
57 minutes of our time to others. So on Saturday morning a few of us went to Little Angels Orphanage to spend some time with the children. In my eyes, I was offering the morning to God. Loving the children in that time turned out to be rest for my soul.

I was a child in My Father’s house, meeting new friends and playing
games long forgotten. I could see how the love of God, through one
available couple, can transform the destiny of seven once desperate
children. This makes me understand that the Kingdom of Heaven only needs a little mustard seed to grow into a majestic tree. I might
still not realize what God can do with the little mustard seed I have
to give.

The children themselves don't expect much. They want you to share
yourself with them while they draw you into their world to see life
through their eyes. Then they take the opportunity to show you that
they are worthy of your time and love as each child blooms with his
individual talents that will one day make a difference in someone
else's life.

Jacob, Rebecca, Gabriel, Esther, Naomi, Malcholm and Sarah, You are all uniquely beautiful and my life is enriched by to getting to know
you as part of our God-family.

Petra
